This is in relation to the Data Promotion Sim or Data only.

Anyone care to clear my muddled head please?

Billing

OUT-OF-BUNDLE DATA USAGE
• Once you've used up your bundle, the out-of-bundle tariff of R 0.39/MB will apply.
• Data usage will be summarized per session in bytes, and billed in 10 kilobyte increments.
• A minimum charge of R0.02 will be charged for the session (opening the connection).
• Out-of-bundle data usage is charged at the same rate during both peak and off-peak periods.

IN-BUNDLE DATA USAGE
• You will receive your data bundle which will not be charged but measured in 10KB increments.
• If a session was opened but no data was transferred for the 24 hour period an amount of bytes equal to R0.02 will be depleted from the bundle per day rounded to the nearest 10KB.
• Data usage is measured at the same applicable rate during peak and off-peak periods.
The inclusive in and out of bundle tariffs only apply to local traffic. International roaming is excluded.

The highlighted part in the quote is what's catching me out here.
What do they mean by that?
Are they actually splitting traffic and are you in for a suprise because of this in your billing?
Has anyone been billed strangely?

They are just saying that your bundle does not include data usage when roaming overseas... Roaming being the verb.
Usage within the borders of SA will constitute depletion of your bundle or out of bundle rate while roaming/international use will be charged at eg. R3000/GB or something crazy

It just means that it applies if you are using the sim card card locally. Not splitting the traffic local and international. It also means if you take the sim card out of the country and use it for international roaming the data bundle prices won't apply but (if it works) you'll be billed roaming tariff.

International roaming (at MTN) is at R104 000 per Gb.

This applies when you are physically outside of SA.

Ah thanks guys, the penny has dropped :)
But to say, "The inclusive in and out of bundle tariffs only apply to local traffic" had me pondering - I reckon the wording should be changed.

Anyway - thanks for clearing that up for me :D

+1 Very misleading.

Where is our Cell C rep these days?

Perhaps someone should tell Trevor :p :D

Dude. Are you serious? Thought you were joking about this or something. I still fail to see how this is not clear enough? It seems quite clear to me what they are trying to convey.

ADSL Local/international browsing != Cellular Local/international roaming
