My stepfather bought a PVision 42" LCD about 3 years ago.

Is there ANY chance in hell it can't display 720p from DSTV?

42 inches implies it was a Plasma. Back then Pvision made only ED plasmas, not 720P.

Then it must be 40" ... I know it's LCD.

Also actually only 18 months old.

I knew that ;)

The whole story was the DSTV installer came to them last night to install HD PVR and said, 'oh I'm sorry your screen is not HD so you're not going to benefit'

My parents paid almost R30k for the screen when it came out, so they were furious and asked me. They obviosly have no idea about resolutions, HD, inputs but I did almost guarantee them that no one made standard def LCD panels.

I just needed to confirm though :P

THanks

I know this is an old (very old) thread. But does anyone have an PDF version of the user manual/guide, or know where I can find one? I have searched on google but can't find anything. I also need a remote for this TV (it's lost, and the child-lock has been inadvertently activated, and now the TV won't do any thing until the pin code is entered (difficult with no remote). I have been incontact with the suppliers but although willing they are not able to help as they don't have any available.

Hi,
I am in the same boat, it's not stuck in child lock however I desperatley need a remote, no idea where to find one and having no luck with universal remotes.

I know the Logitech Harmony will probably work. Hard to get and expensive though
