Hi my friend bought a pvr decoder but he stays in a complex which only have 1 in cable but he needs 2 for the pvr to work. How would he go about getting this to work?

More info needed. What kind of communal system do they have installed? Where is this? If it is in Cape Town, I might know the complex...

If his neighbors are not to far away he should go and chat with them and see if any of them also needs a second feed.

Then it is fairly simple, you can buy special splitters (not to expensive) from SpaceTv or even Hi-Fi corp. You will need one with 4 outputs.

Run 3 coax cables between the two properties.

Connect your neighbours current sat feed to one of these (use a proper female-female F connector) then take this cable on your side and connect it plus your Sat feed from the complex to the splitters two inputs.

You then have 4 outputs available on the splitter, connect the remaining two cables coming from your neighbor to the first two outputs and the other two to your HD Box.
