Just thought I'd put this up as a bench mark of how stock rom / rooted / lag fixed phones are performing.

I'll start..

Phone: Samsung Galaxy S (I9000)
Baseband version: I9000 XXJM2
Build number: Eclair.WXJM3

completely stock, the phone is as i got it from MTN.

Quadrant result: 885 points.

Phone: HTC Desire
Baseband (Radio): 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2
Build Num: 2.14.207.1 CL233777 release keys
ROM: AuraxTSense 7.8.1 FroYo FRF91 by NeoPhyTe

Quadrant result: 1200 points.

Phone: Samsung Galaxy S (I9000)
Baseband version: I9000 XXJM2
Build number: Eclair.WXJM3

Rooted. Lagfix installed.
LauncherPro UI Mod.
+- 30 apps installed

Quadrant Result: 2146 points.
If what they're saying about Froyo is true, this thing is going to kick ass after an update.

Just an interesting note on Quadrant scores, for those who don't know it yet: The benchmarking app doesn't give you a realistic view of every day usability speeds of the device. Especially in the case of RyanZA's OCLF, where the Quadrant scores are kinda skewed and everyday performance can sometimes be WORSE than not running any lag fix.

Indeed OCLF may be the highest scoring lagfix but it's not the best. It's just the simplest one to install. The lagfixes that require custom kernels/ROMs will give the best performance.
Right now I'm using this kernel that includes the Universal lagfix:

I'm using the EXT4 Advanced option, which gives excellent performance without being too risky. And it includes better screen sharpness settings, which makes text look better and maybe images too.

This only applies to the Galaxy S.

Lets see what difference Gingerbread made.....

New setup and results:

Phone: HTC Desire
Baseband (Radio): 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2
Build Num: GRH78C
ROM: [ROM-AOSP GRH78C] Oxygen v2.0-RC7 (Gingerbread)

Quadrant result: 1062 points.

Well thats disappointing! Maybe I should upgrade my radio...

Well, my SGS performs better with Darky's custom rom than my stock rom with RyanZA's lagfix, but Darky's rom score lower, so I don't think it is all to important.

lol yeah I am not going to change anything. I have the best battery life that I had in a looooooong time so I'm not touching a thing!
