Have a Quality Superflo pool pump. Came with the house we bought and i see there's plenty debris in the pump basket.

Problem is I can't get the basket out!

It's one of those with a top screwnut, which is a metal bracket that swings to the side if the screwnut is removed. The problem is that the screwnut is removed - the swing arm wont budge - the clear plastic top cover is under the swing arm and it seems to be sealed.

Used a claw hammer to pull up the plastic lid - it released some pressure (assumed its a negative pressure problem) - but alas nothing - that bracket will not budge.

I assume many people have this pump - its quite popular. Anyone else know how to crack this open (short of a sledgehammer)

PS: This is the type of pump with the screwnut/bracket setup: https://www.takealot.com/0-75kw-poo...eMlbcbyXl_saEsW6gxkaAudKEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

You can use a spanner to try and manually turn out the thread that keeps the black top onto the plastic see through lid. There is a piece that looks like a nut.

Don't understand has the screw been removed?

So how did you get it off?
Used a size 15 spanner (shifting spanner kept slipping) to unscrew the nut circled by @ChuckNorris above. It lifts the black part off the clear lid which then lets you swing the bracket to side, remove the cover, then can get the basket out.

Thank you, will file that at the back of my mind :)
