Quantum computing experiment results in breakthrough

Graphics are just computations. something like this could render and stream graphics on the fly allowing cloud gaming on relatively simple devices as long you had a decent internet connection

No, I don't think any quantum computer would be able to run Windows...

I wonder what a BSOD would do to a quantum chip :D

Depends if you open the box....The computer will be in both states, till you open the box ;)

On another note, this is boring, phone me when quantum computing can bridge the dimension gap. I sooo wanna play Starcraft against myself.

But can it play Crysis? :D

lol.According to the article only in 10-20 years time :( if it takes that long to perfect it,someone else might come along with something thats easier to manipulate and blow this thing out of the water.its still pretty amazing though.

Only if you leave it in the box, as soon as you unpack it...

The simulator is only good for analyzing magnetism and with all its supporting technology takes up a whole room so there will not be a home version from Dell in the foreseeable future.

Well, it's the problem of Schroedinger's PC isn't it? It's always blue-screening and not blue-screening at the same time, except when you look at the monitor, then it becomes one or the other. Guess which you're gonna get most often... hehehe

These are the guys who do the blowing-out-of-the-water.

Who are the South Africans? Better dedicate the new SA Agulhas II to them than some artist.

“Once the system provides an answer, there’s no straightforward way to know the answer is correct,” Beircuk admitted.

LOL. I can just picture, getting the answer and wondering if it is really the correct answer. Like Douglas Adams foretold, we will have to build a bigger one to help us determine if the first one was correct.
