Quantum computing explained

Nice article - very interesting. Makes for good reading, and is thought provoking - makes one wonder about all the future possibilities in computing... Anyone else here thinking of Stargate and all the advanced Alien species.

It will require supercooling to work, which implies that there will have to be a mainframe providing a quantum computer service. Considering the bandwidth available to the rest of the world (read: not South Africa), this shouldn't be too much of an issue to adopt. It's exciting to think that Ray Kurzweil's plans for the future might be here ahead of schedule.

Like wtf! I'll hav to read this article again wen I get home, and not on my cellphone while driving in peak. Later...

Oh my god...my head...my head hurts so bad!!!! EINA f@k!!! And I still dont know what the article is about. Does this mean my porn AVI files will work better somehow??? :D:p

From my understanding it is not yet proven that quantum computing is completely possible and that it can generate the correct solution. Just remember if it was all good, and you cracked RSA 2048 in 1 second the FBI, NASA, CIA and all the other acronymised agencies in the world would be in deeeeep deeeeeeeeep poo.

Awesome video "explaining" quantum mechanics...

In the future there'll probably be big servers that run everything, and you just subscribe with your screen and get everything streamed to you. App, games, video etc.

I don't hope that qMaths will be a compulsory subject in our schools. The average age for matriculants will shift from 23 to 35, We will never get them out of school!
:D

the average user will experience a large headache reading on quantum mechanics, but hey this is good stuff
