"Judge Tshabalala said that, if the transformation principle had not been applied, he would not have become judge president. "

Yet, When they need medical services, they use private institutions with white specialists. Not the state hospitals.

When they fly, they use white pilots.

When they are up the creek without a paddle, they use white advocates SC.

I wonder why.

I rest my case your honour.:o:o:o

Lets ask Oscar who he prefers to defend him - some person who got the job because of race and/or gender, or the person who actually knows what he does but couldn't get the position because he is white

Even worse.

Who is going to hear his case and make a decision that will have a decisive effect on his life.

Forget what the law says, the colour of the bloke making the judgement must be correct.

Jungle Justice?

Quata? Lol.

You do know that judges and lawyers are different people right?

I'm curious. Do you think a white magistrate would have given Pistorius bail?

"Judge Tshabalala said that, if the transformation principle had not been applied, he would not have become judge president. "

So at least he admits he isn't good enough to get the job on his own and needs a racist system to help him out.

Admitting the problem is the first step I guess.

I think if the policies weren't in place the existing white judges would hire their buddies like they have been for the last 40 years.

I think the current administration is quite happy to use whites - and white advocates in particular - as the paddle. If Smuts was happy to stiffen up a bit and go head first into the water and the chief priest would be all to happy to hold the feet and paddle.
This is the problem - people don't make good paddles; neither literally (you know joints and what not) and psychologically - we are designed to be human, to gain self-fulfillment and to have meaning.

So you're telling me broederbond and the rest of the clicks didn't hire from the inside?

Yes they did.

Promoted the best.
What don't you understand from the judge's quote?

"Judge Tshabalala said that, if the transformation principle had not been applied, he would not have become judge president. "

He admits he is a quota player.

If you carry on with this line of questioning, you will be held in contempt of forum

Why? Do the men in funny hats run this place too?

Get yourself a copy of this:

Nepotism, corruption and discrimination: a predicament for a post‐apartheid South African public service

I'll try find you extracts now.

And you know this how?

To add before some smartass does, cronyism applies as equally wrong as nepotism IMO.

Oh please no! I have no intention to read or to listen to historical racist crap people can seemingly not get rid o because it suits themf. I kinda like the moving forward part and not the dwelling in the racist past with current racist comments and views.

/court adjourned

Ja, the former judge does admit that he was not the best of all the candidates when he was appointed. However, he does also say that his division ran smoothly under his watch, so he did the job for which he was hired and, in fact, he now has more experience as a judge president than them lauded whites.
