It's been a long wait, but soon our household will have DSL. JOY!
Currently there are 3 PCs in our household, 2 of which are networked via an 8-port switch, and the 3rd which soon will be. However, I'm not sure how this will work re the ADSL connection, since we want the single connection to support multiple users simultaneously.
My question is thus: will it suffice to buy an ADSL modem, which will plug into a single PC, and all Internet requests will go through the switch and then the modem (via internet connection sharing)? Or is it a better idea to dump the switch and buy an ADSL router+modem instead?
Also, if I do decide to by a router/modem combo, is it worthwhile going wireless, or is cable still the way to go?
