Question about Explora Ultra

Can I use the apps on the Explora Ultra Netflix/Amazon Prime video without having to install the dish? I won one in their rewards thingy and I wanted to give it to someone and subscribe them to Netflix.

If I'm not mistaken I think you have to have an active DSTV account to access the apps. We have one and the apps is part of the DSTV menu on the decoder...

So i can still activate a cheap package on the decoder without installing the dish and then have him access the Netflix and DSTV now app on the decoder?

Not entirely sure... We have full boquet... Maybe someone witj smaller package can answer...?

I'll test it out once it arrives to see if my theory works or not. If not, I'll just get them the Mi Box.

I doubt the Ultra will boot up property if not connected to a dish. You will also not get any software updates and at this stage the apps(which form part of the software) get updated fairly frequently (and additional apps added).

You'll need an active DStv subscription to use it (any bouquet) along with their 'access' fee which is crazy, but still needs a connection to the dish.
