Question for the foodies...

Anyone heard of or can explain what these are:

Pompodours
Semfaine

In context:

Pompodours served with mixed berries
Codfish with Semfaine baked with vegetable topping and steamed potatoes.

It is part of a 9 course menu I will be eating tomorrow night but have no idea what they are. And since this happened, I would prefer to be in the know.

Wafer huh? What a waste when I can rather have the pear pancakes with brandy and vanilla ice-cream.

Semfaine seems to be another word made up by a French chef to confuse and con the paying client. They piss me off...

Taster menu. 9 Small courses instead of 3 large courses.

1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1 = 9
3+4+2 = 9

Same end result...

Doubt it - there are 3 "main" type meals on top of the menu - cod, chicken and lamb/beef with options for each.

maybe it's a small cod served whole (think how they serve trout) ..... not much meat when you have to pick it all apart
