Question for vegetarians

This thread should be gold for meat-eaters as you'll get to witness veg*n infighting! :p

Would make for some great viewing in restaurants. Reminds me of this one woman who wanted the waiter to explain every process of her order.

Come on vegetarians! Your comments on eggs, please.

you know what he means....the animal did not agree to being killed

Irrelevant, it was killed not murdered. By legal definition.

Both the words, "murder" and "person" (murder implies a person killing a person, ie, a house can not murder a person. A person can not murder a cow) have very specific legal definitions.

Yeah, of course I did, that he was misusing a word to make something sound worse than it really is for hyperbolic reasons *shrug*

If we're gonna call slaughter-for-food murder, then as the arbiters of justice, we need to eradicate every single carnivore out there for murder. Does the Lion murder the Impala?

Lions aren't moral agents, and they have to eat meat to survive. But that's a discussion for a different thread.

Indeed it is, and by extension so too is calling our own hunter behaviour murder. If satanboy can say that killing an animal for food is murder, then we can discuss that here.

No, this thread is intended to question why vegetarians take issue with eating meat but not other animal products. It's based on the assumption that eating meat is A Bad Thing. If you would like to discuss whether or not eating meat is A Bad Thing, that needs to go in another thread.
