I'm not contesting broIf we're gonna call slaughter-for-food murder, then as the arbiters of justice, we need to eradicate every single carnivore out there for murder. Does the Lion murder the Impala?

No, this thread is intended to question why vegetarians take issue with eating meat but not other animal products. It's based on the assumption that eating meat is A Bad Thing. If you would like to discuss whether or not eating meat is A Bad Thing, that needs to go in another thread.
Now you sound like Baleka Mbete. I do not recognise your counter-argument!
That is a very flawed argument. Long rebuttal here. Here's a counterpoint on iflscience.

Organic is not perfect but at least the animals are treated usually WAY better.
I also believe that everyone that eats meat should kill an animal at least once.

A vegan once told me that diary - even if organic - is equally cruel as the cows are kept in milk by regular breeding, while the calves cannot all be sustainably integrated, creating the largely vile veal industry. A calf died for your cup of milk, is what she said.
This is neither an endorsement or critique of your suggestion but it was in fact this very deed that turned my daughter into a vegetarian.
Its not really a rebuttal. It just challenges the idea that vegetarians kil MORE animals.
The fact remains that a lot of wildlife is harmed with modern farming practices so you can't really get away from hurting animals.
Vegetarians kills more animals than meat eaters (in relation)
the appetizing videos that BCO has posted are the reason why I'm a vegetarian.
The eggs that I eat come from my own chickens and all the diary that my family eats and drinks is certified organic.

I do consider them "real" vegetarians.
But I also think that being a lacto-ovo vegetarian for ethical reasons is untenable. If you don't eat meat because you object to animal suffering then it's logically inconsistent to eat eggs or dairy. So to lacto-ovo vegetarians - why are you not ok with meat, but eggs and dairy are fine?
Fortunately I don't have ethical issues with eating meat. Heck I will even clean and cook the stuff. Eating it is a different story though. I tend to start gagging just thinking about it.
Someone once said me it was psychological and that could be true. But as it doesn't really bother me I haven't made an attempt to figure out what's behind it.
