Hey guys, I just had a few questions about my game performance, so here it goes. I bought an HP about a month ago, which includes (Windows Vista,AMD 64 dual core procerssor 5000+ 2.6ghz, 3Gb ram, Nvidia Geforce 6100se). It ran all my games smoothly with out a problem, also to mention my graphic settings were set to low because I knew the video card wouldn't be able to support it on medium or high graphics. about maybe a few weeks later I started to notice choppiness and some stalling on my games. Now I thought that maybe this was do to firewall setting or a virus protection program that was interfering with my online play but I also noticed this on single player. So I disabled my firewall and checked my virus program to see if it was blocking the game or anything like that. Even after all that, it continued to do the same, but I chose to ignore it. Just recently I decided to upgrade my computer so I bought a power supply(700 watter) along with a new video card (. Evga E-GEFORCE 8800GTS Superclocked 576MHZ 320MB 1.7GHZ GDDR3 PCI-E Dual DVI-I Hdtv Hdcp Video Card). I installed everything and everything seemed to be working properly. runs the games at max graphics no problems, But again I notice some choppiness and stalling. I don't know if it's cookies or spyware on my computer that's causing this. I have run out of ideas on how to fix it. So I was wondering what you guys thought and if you can give me some advice. Thanks =]

dude i have feeling its your expensive hp(which includes the cheapest motherboard they could find)

replace your motherboard and memory and you'll be fine

dont think just because you pay alot for an hp that the part inside are expensive

hp are expensive with the cheapest shyte they can find and they put that in your pc

let this be a lesson, dont buy hp branded desktops

go into a pc shop and they will put something together for you which will cost the same as an hp but it will be much better quality

it could also be vista thats causing your problems, download the latest 8800 drivers and download the nvidia vista gaming patch

Try disabling your av and any other unnecessary applications that's running in the background and see if that makes a difference

I'd definitely go for all the latest Nvidia drivers and Vista patches. See http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_downloads_rel70betadriver.html.

I wouldn't buy new RAM. The ram can't be that bad that it's worth paying R1500-2000 just to replace it and have perfectly good ram lying around.

Try just lowering the settings a little bit, even a 8800GTS can't play everything on max with a 5000+, and if theres any stalling on lower setting you know for sure there's something else wrong.
