I'm seriously considering getting this deal when my Whoooosh expires end of December. Just two quick questions:
  1. Is there any rollover on the unused data?
  2. Is it possible to get something along the lines of a data-sim for this?

Any other relevant info would be appreciated too.

Doubt it buddy

8ta 10GB yes, hence the reason for posting in this forum.
Thought so.
Great - so I can have two sim cards running off the same 10GB pm concurrently?

I am doubting that very much. You're referring to the thing I know Vodacom has running, the one is called Twin Sim, where you can have two numbers on the same sim. Obviously the primary sim gets priority, you can't have both active at once. The other thing Vodacom has is a Data-sharing sim, I'm not sure what they call it, but it does exist, and there quite a few people who use it.

Looking at this article:

I'm doubting that it has been implemented yet. As we all know in the field of technology and those of us who have experience with Online Banking - when a company says they're considering something, it means "Hey, that's a good idea, we'll look at it when we're bored." When a company says "The feature is being implemented" - they simply mean, "Ok we're bored, but too lazy to implement the system right away." So perhaps give it till the middle of end of 2012 and I'm sure they may have implemented the feature by then given considerable demand from the public.

Also, this is just my speculation based on that article link, and obviously, South African service delivery, the best would be to call 8ta, actually there's a rep on the Mybroadband Forum, he replied to me about something in an OKAY timeframe, here's the link to his profile, drop him a reply and let us know what he says if that's cool with you:

I am using WiMax and have an Openweb uncapped 512kb Gold. However - i don't think i use enough to justify the cost of this for a 512 connection as t is R240 for Telkom and R398 for OW. R658 for such a slow connection seems crazy! So i am contemplating the 8ta Promo5 with 10GB and 10GB Midnight Surfer add-on. The question is - IF i am downloading something during the day and it continues at night. When the clock hits 00:00 does the Midnight bundled data automatically kickin and "release" the normal data bundle? I typically won't surf the net at the time of night but i also don't want to add the extra option if it continues to use my NORMAL contracted data bundle on specific downloads and not switch over! SOrry if this is a hi-jack it just seems a good thread (title) to include. Thanks.

This is for the 8ta Rep.

I went to Randburg today to get the 10 Gig Promo, taking all the required documentation (took a peek at the 8ta website first to see what 8ta wanted) The "lady" told me that I had to get my original Bank Statements, stamped by the Bank first before she would accept them. The 8ta web site makes no mention of this. I also offered to pay via my Mastercard (R199 x 24 on Budget, as they wont accept payment in full) This was also rejected outright. Do you guys actually want to sell this promo, as all on duty had this "could I care less attitude". Pretty confusing although not surprising. Can you update your web site to say all Bank Statements must be stamped (even though they are original) or was she winding me up? Please advise!!

Yuo know i cannot remember when last i was asked for Bank Statements! Last year I bought a brand new car in October and i wasn't asked for Bank Statements. IN fact - when i collected the car the only asked me THEN for a copy of a current salary advice and didn't even ask for it to be stamped. Now for a R199 a month deal they want a bank statement as well as a payslip? I recon they have someone working there that was in a different company before in a lower position and then got the Job at 8ta and is now trying to shine hahahaha - i see it all the time! If you know what i am talking about you will know i don't mean the ladies at the desk in the branch! But ok they have a process! ALL my statements are via email so it is a schlep and they don't do anything with it anyway!

Ordered my 8ta contract via the Call Centre (filled in a form on the website).

2 days later I just had to give the guy a copy of my ID and copies of my payslips - that was 3 months ago...
