Question re. "unshaped" uncapped MWEB ADSL

I have a 512kb unshaped uncapped MWEB account. Right now I'm trying to watch a live video stream. It's laggy as hell - basically unwatchable. I have netlimiter running and it indicates that my download speed is between 17kB/s and 32kB/s. So basically, it's downloading the stream at 1/4 -1/2 of my actual line speed.

Surely if I have no other downloads running and I have an unshaped account, ALL of my available bandwidth should be going towards the live stream? i.e. Netlimiter should be indicating close to 64kB/s being used by the stream. Why is this not the case?

it may be uncapped and unshaped but its contention ratio is still not 1:1
plus streaming live video from overseas means that latency has an effect on the smoothness of the video
and also the problem could be at the source
and also because of overheads ur 512k will be closer to 52kB/s at max speed as opposed to its theoretical max of 64kB/s

this is bad you need get your line to 40 or less, you pretty far away from the exchange, i watch vids on my shaped account, stays 450kps on bandwidth monitor ,which is about 60KBS, during business hours, but my line is 40db and noise is 31db

500ms there is something wrong with your line also run pingtest.net and check line qaulity there

Yeah I really think MWEB is sinking. Speeds are crappy. Multiple threads on how bad it is... look at how many threads there are for Openweb? May not be as many customers but if they had issues, trust me their clients would be more active here.

My download speeds are going for a ball of horse turd.
