OK.

I had an 8800.
In the nvidia control panel, you have game profiles, that you could edit for your own custom setting (AA, AF, etc.). I used quite often.

I now have an uber 4850.
How do I essentially do the same now?
In other words, I would like to run COD4 with 12xAA and 16xAF, and ONLY COD4?

Is this possible, if so, how?
:o

I haven't seen that feature in catalyst control center, BUT I know you can force the AA and stuff, not sure it's possible though, but you can just mess around in CC

I think you can. I am at work now so can't confirm, but try the following:
* change settings in CCC which you would like your game to be played at.
* Go to profiles in CCC, right click manage/edit your profile
* Give your new profile a name and save,
* In the same window you should have a option something like activate option for this program, select your game here.

Try, I am not sure about which step goes first but I remember something I saw when I was playing around in the CCC settings.

+1 to Cyberarmy. Checked last night and that sounds about right. I wouldn't suggest running it for long though unless you have an aftermarket cooler

Temps are fine... :)

My temps run at about 79°C even when playing COD at max for a looooong time (2 hours).
:)

Temps don't correlate to the amount of AA and AF you use, or am I missing something?

I was telling him something I saw on other forum today, some Chinese dude ran Crysis for 5 hours straight, and his card refuse to work when he tried to swith on the PC the next day. Probably toasted, on stock cooling and keep in mind that China is in summer season and the past few days were extremely hot.....

Depends. If no AA was run with a frame limiter then running with AA will result in higher temps...but if the card is running at flat out fps with and w/o AA then the temp will be the same cause the card is running flat-out either way.

Yeah a friend told me the past week has been almost 40 degrees...and since its humid it likes playing crysis for hours in the sauna :D
