Question regarding Islam

Dont get me started!

LOL I'm just saying... I see a lot of folks attacking the Kuraan as some grand repository of all evil... there are plenty of reprehensible parts of the bible that people really shouldn't be listening to. I mean I see some people in this thread talking about sexism in Islam. To argue that the Kuraan and Islam is sexist and assume that Christianity is a paragon of gender equality is just plain stupid. There is plenty of sexism in Christianity too.

Similarly parts of the bible dealing with homosexuality inspire gay bashing.
And if that is the case it should be condemned as well, and religious leaders should do more to ensure that the religious scriptures are not interpreted in this manner, if that is honestly only a misinterpretation, if it leads to gay bashing or modern day terrorism.

Agreed. The problem is you're always going to get the fundies that are going to take the stuff to weird levels. Just as we have folks that think the Earth is 6000 years old we're always going to have folks that take the bible's sentencing of homosexuals to death to heart and Muslims that take the whole "kill the infidels" thing to heart. It isn't something you can reasonably expect to control through religious leaders.

quick question to the Christians here who said
"Good, I am not Good, only God is Good"

Nobody that I'm aware of.

I know Jesus said something similar to that but not that exactly. Jesus said: "Why do you call me good?, No one is good—except God alone."

However that is an entirely different message.

Jesus said this (Luke 18:19)

Here are two awnsers

I know at glance it seems like Jesus is questioning why they call Him good. However, He is agreeing that He is good, but bringing to their attention that this goodness is from the Father and the good they see in Him is because He is light from light, true God from true God.

He was saying that if people recognize that He is good then they should know that He is God. They should recognize that God is the source of goodness, not man. He was raising people's minds to recognize the Messiah.

Consider the emphasis of the words.

Why do you call me good? That would be the wrong emphasis.
Rather it would probably be: Why do you call me good?

Remember Jesus asked Peter who people said Jesus was?
The he asked Peter: "Who do you say that I am?"

Now, we'll put it together:

"Who do you say that I am?"
"Why do you call me good?"

Now why we don’t get back on track, I am still waiting for an answer on the following

Do you agree that Israel was established as a state by King David in 1055BC with the capital been Jerusalem

DO you acknowledge that two Jewish Temples were built on the temple mount before hundreds of years before Islam was conceived, the first in 957BC and the second in 8BC.

The Ark of the Covenant was interred on the Temple Mount before it disappeared and it is also the place where Jesus taught, making it sacred to Jews and Christians. Yet to this day Jews and Christians are prevented from offering prayers on the Temple Mount. Why?

What awaits women in heaven, especially those that die through Jihad?

Yes but they desired to worship a golden ram cos they were to impatient and could not wait for moses to come down from the mountain. subsequently they were band from the area and cursed by GOD, and Moses (peace be upon him) was then told to leave them

must admit I have limited knowledge of this, but ask your self y did Jesus (peace be upon him) come if not to straighten the Jew who have corrupted THE religion of GOD, also it no secret that Judaisim came before Christianity and Christianity came before Islam

try looking in Ethiopia, again not too certain y u not able to offer prayers on the mount

Heaven waits them what more could they want, and anyone who goes to heaven will have what ever they desire they need only to think of it to have it, what did you think they would go to hell ??

who was talking when this was said "You are My beloved Son, in You I AM WELL-PLEASED" and who was he/she talking to
Mark 1:9-11

What has this got to do with King David, the above event occurred about 392 years before he established the state of Israel?

The only problem is that according to the New Testament Christ is the be all and end all.
He was also foretold in the Old Testament, while Muhammad was mentioned in neither

I see you are into conspiracy theories. My priest visited the holy land last year and visited the Temple Mount, while in the courtyard on the opposite end of the Dome he bowed his head in prayer and two foul mouthed Muslim clergy came up and started screaming at him that he was desecrating the area etc. Nice bit of tolerance there

Just curious because you are always hearing about all the virgins the men get, as for the suicide bombers I hope they go to hell, if not, well that doesn’t speak well of a religion of peace.

Didn’t your prophet say that he saw more women than men in hell?

Why don’t you guess

9 And it came to pass, in those days, Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 And forthwith coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens open and the Spirit as a dove descending and remaining on him. 11 And there came a voice from heaven: You are my beloved Son; in you I am well pleased.
