I would like to hear some opinions please regarding this situation:
I moved in 2 months ago into a flat. The electricity is split into two where both parties buy prepaid . My electricity runs through a "rotating disc meter" and the main house has no meter, and this is how the separations is calculated.
What happened previously is the meter reading is read at beginning of the month and then at end of the month again.
Now according to the reading I use approximately 200 units each month. Then the agent says each unit cost R1.40 approximately.
Now what concerns me is that I buy R200 at pick n pay for electricity and on the slip it says I received 210 units of electricity at xx rate. And the agent says I used 200 units x R1.40= R280.
It feels as if Im subsidizing the other people next door.
To simplify: If I go to pick n pay do I buy 200 units or R200 of electricity?
