I am confused....

I have a 4U zero contract and so I have "bolt on" and "ad hoc" bundles to work with. I have a 1gb "bolt on" which activates each month and I presume runs for the month and I loose any data that I have not used at the end of the month. If during the month it becomes obvious that the 1gb "bolt on" will not be sufficient, I try to ad an "ad hoc" bundle to see me through. (Does this run for 30 days from purchase or run out at month end?). When I try to do this through the Vodacom4me site I get an error message (because my "bolt on" has not yet fully depleted?) but when I phone 155 and ask for a "ad hoc" bundle to be added they cheerfully do this for me (do they have added functionality). This "ad hoc" bundle never shows on my balances so after the "bolt on" depletes I run blind but I never get a warning sms to say my bundle is complete so I presume the "ad hoc" addition worked

Am I getting this right?

Moved Hobbit's post out of the [thread=71070]Pre-paid Data Bundles How To thread[/thread], and into this new thread.

@Hobbit, there are several issues raised in your post, I cannot answer the v4me issues - I have had the same problem in the past with activating a Contract Data Bundle using v4me - I find it is better to call 155 to activate contract data bundles, but the 30 days question I can answer - only Pre-Paid Data Bundles are valid for 30 days from & including the date of purchase of a PPDB.

Currently, all contract data bundles [Bolt-On and Ad-Hoc], are valid from the date of activation within month X, up to and including the last day that same month X, e.g. if you activate a Contract Data Bundle today on your contract, that contract data bundle will expire at 23:59:59 tonight [since today is the last day of this month].

When I bought a 500 MB contract bolt-on bundle, it was activated on the 3rd of April and the balance enquiry showed 477 MB remaining before it was used.

Does this mean you get a pro rata amount of bytes and you pay a pro rata amount for the bundle according to how many days are left in the month?

Let me check.

 that sounds like a problem [bug] that needs to be reported to [email protected] and investigated by Vodacom, best to always take a screenshot at the time.
