If you read the question he posed, you would know that he was asking for XP-related questions, not "Why do you want to work for us?"...

I did now and then EDITED it.

But good on you for that, nice observation. 10 points for you.... ;);)

At least it's a comment, unlike nothing from you, couldn't you find anything from overseas to post here or what?

Why you resort to that kind of attitude is beyond me. I was merely pointing out an error on your side. No need to pick up a shirty attitude. As for your last comment, the previous poster already posted a link that should cover all questions needed for this guy, hence I do not need to post XP questions, as there are many.

possible q's - and a few answers

-how would you get transfer mode from pio to udma5 (devicemanager(ide))
-how would you go about to disable all startup items (msconfig)
-how would you go about testing network connectivity (ip,mask)(dns/AD)
-how would you go about testing internet connectivity (ip,dns(nslookup, ping, tracert))
-how would you confirm a shared ADSL/3G (ics,ip,mask,gw,dns)

I'd use stuff like, "You see an error saying {whatever}, how would you go about investigating an solving it?"; see their troubleshooting processes (e.g. go to event log/device manager, or whatever).
Or ask them questions where they can justify their answer, like "Which is better, NTFS or FAT32, and why?". That can tell you whether they *really* know XP or not.

Ask him what svchost.exe does. (Runs groups of services that are contained in DLLs)

o yes whats the best anti virus (if he says norton throw him out the door)

Terminating the (l)user behind the pc is and always will be the best anti virus protection system ;)

No offence Claymore but asking which file system is better wont tell you if they *really* know XP or not. But that discussion is for another thread if someone cares to create it. StbA, I would run the applicant through a series of mock calls (without a system infront of them), diagnosing and helping the ficticious end user resolve problems.
