Any battery has the potential to explode and the cheaper anything gets the more corners they cut. I don't see saving R250 to get a cheapie battery as good value or worth the potential risk. The size of battery the op is looking for is hardly special or particularly expensive.

I have had 2 different vehicles in which the batteries detonated, both happened before I purchased the vehicles but the damage was evident. Car batteries take a beating when starting a vehicle up and a poorly designed or manufactured battery could make it more prone to self destructing.
