I just purchased a DSTV Explora and it didn't come with any cables (coaxial) to connect it to the satellite. It also didn't come with a 'Smart LNB', something I've read a lot about. But I'm confused as to what I actually need to connect the Explora to the existing DSTV installation in my complex. I phoned Multichoice and they were properly useless with the technical side. They told me to buy a Smart LNB, which I did, but I then realised that that was not what I needed. When I phoned back, this other lady told me I need a switch in order to provide the Explora with more power.
The existing installation in the wall looks like this:
(one white input on the left, one blue input in the middle, and the TV aerial on the right).
Can I plug the Explora directly into this using a coaxial cable? Or will I need a switch? And what is this called? I've been reading up on SATCR, Quad LNB, etc. but I'm not sure what installation this is.
Thanks a lot!
Amy
