When you buy a shelf company, it already has a registration number.

When you register a new company, you must complete and sumbit all the forms, payment, etc. and only once the process is 100% complete, does CIPRO give you a registration number.

Correct ?

The shelf company is already registered and ownership is simply transferred. You'll have to file docs though to amend the registration documents. Pretty sure the old company act required that you declare the company's objective, which clearly isn't know at the time of shelf co registration.

Regarding the Registration number: Not sure about the old co act, but under the new one the reg number is issued simultaneously with the co being added to the register at CIPRO.

All of the above is strictly speculation & afaik of course. ;)

So in essence you agree with me ? :)

A company reg no for a new compnay (NOT a shelf company) is only issued when all the paperwork is done at CIPRO.

its almost always worth buying a shelf company over starting from scratch.

That is not the issue :)
