Quick question about the new ADSL pricing

Ok so the price from Telkom AKA Rapists is R516.00 for 1mb ADSL. From what I can understand this is without line rental and therefore you have to add that line rental onto it? Is this correct? So actually you would be paying about nearly R800 just for the line and ADLS from Telkom. You then need a further cost for an ISP.

So basically it would cost about R1100 for all in. Jeez we are really fciuked here.

Line rental is about R100 (don't know the actual figure), so it would be closer to R600 and not R800. Or you could order 512kbps for R362, and wait for the speed upgrade to 1mbps later in the year.

Why do you have to pay for telephone to have ADSL only? Is it because they use legacy network?

No, that's where they screw us. They charge us telephone rental as well as ADSL rental, which uses the EXACT same line we're already paying for.

This is a good idea if you still use your landline to make lots of calls. Decent package in that case.

Not useful if you only use the DSL part. I make an average of R5 worth of calls on my line, my weekender package works out cheaper.

They charge you for the line rental, to keep you waiting in line if you want to report faults.
