Hi guys

Quick question. Couldn't find any further information online (or in the user manual) so thought I would use 'crowd sourcing' on MyBB.

Saw the following advertised on special at Makro: LG 47" (119cm) Full HD LED TV, features
Model: 47LV3530
Resolution: 1920 x 1080
Contrast ratio: 3m: 1
HDMI x 3
USB
12 month guarantee

Do any of you know whether this is a 50Hz or a 100Hz model? I'm a bit paranoid about experiencing motion blur when watching live sport.

Furthermore, does it have an analogue or digital (DVB-T 1/2) tuner? I'm assuming it's the former.

Thanks a mil, in advance, for your input!

Google 47LV3530, first page you'll find several sites, I chose one at random and had this to say:

The LG 47LV3530 47" 1080p LED TV packs a vast amount of great high-end specs and convenience features into a seamless glass panel which looks like it was retro-engineered from a trip to the future.
The combination of Dynamic Contrast (which delivers a ratio of 8,000,000:1) and full 1080p HD makes the 47LV3530 a remarkable TV by any standard but we're just getting started. LG hasn't sacrificed creature comforts for strong specs.
Since every room is different, the 47LV3530 employs an Intelligent Sensor to automatically calibrate the optimal settings to match the color and light level of your specific space. The 47LV3530 is also ISFccc Ready, meaning that it can be professionally calibrated to your specs and the settings saved as a preset. You can switch back and forth from the factory settings with the push of a button.
The 47LV3530's wide connectivity, which includes 4 HDMI connections, enables 1-cable connection of your A/V components. The two USB inputs allow you to share JPEG slide shows and videos (including DivX HD) with your friends. Real Cinema technology displays HD movies just as they were shot in 24p (24 fps) for an authentic theater experience at home, while Clear Voice II balances the voice channel in relation to swelling music or background noise, so you never miss a word of dialogue.
In addition to all of the above, the 47LV3530 is loaded with convenience features like a sleep timer, parental control, closed captioning A/V input labeling and favorite channel programming. Lastly, Energy Star compliance means that you'll be saving money while helping to save the environment.
So Smart, It's Simple
A revolutionary easy way to access limitless content, thousands of movies, customizable apps, videos and the best of the web all organized in simple to use interface. And, when you can just point and choose selections with LG's unique motion-controlled Magic Remote, it's even simpler. That's what you get with an LG Smart TV experience, the next generation in entertainment organized within a simple interface
Prepare To Be Dazzled
Want deeper blacks and richer colors? LG's LED Plus technology provides even greater control of brightness through local dimming technology to deliver better contrast, amazing clarity and color detail, as well as greater energy efficiency compared to conventional LCD TVs
Cut Loose When You're Wi-Fi Ready
Getting your LG TV connected to NetCast Entertainment Access and other online content is easy when you are WiFi Ready. If you have existing wireless broadband, setting it up is simple and you don't need to worry about messy wires
Make Digital Devices Compatible
To build a digital network, you need digital devices. That's obvious. But unless those devices are compatible, it won't be much of a network. DLNA Certified devices work together
Less Blur. More Action
TruMotion 100Hz technology lets you see sports, video games and high-speed action with virtually no motion blur. Now your TV can keep up with your fast- moving entertainment

Double The Detail
This stunning picture is the reason you wanted HDTV in the first place. With almost double the pixel resolution, Full HD 1080p gives it superior picture quality over standard HDTV. You'll see details and colors like never before
Energy Star Qualified
Earning the Energy Star means a product meets strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy. For TVs, it means they save energy both in standby and active (when they're on) modes. Energy Star qualified TVs use about 30% less energy than standard units

Crowd source or too lazy to read?

Hey, that's very helpful... thanks. I didn't actually find that page when doing a Google search.

No mention of the tuner though. Any inside knowledge in this regard?

If it doesn't say it I would take a guess it does not have it.

Yes, the one that was going for R7999. I chose that for my in laws the other day after comparing a few Bigger TVs. It's excellent value. It is only 60Hz, but after watching last weeks stormers vs blues game on it on supersport HD I don't have any complaints.

I would have suggested the PS51D550 instead if their lounge didn't have so much light glaring through the windows, as it is quite reflective. But I prefer the plasma's picture.

Postman pot is that you:p

No but 100% if your room can accommodate (I.e darker or drawn curtains) then plasma is fantastic

If I were to buy right now I would either go for LG 42LW4500 or Samsung PS43D490, would likely take the lg though for the passive 3d over the active 3d but the Samsung being a plasma is great

:D

You such a troll!

Hey guys, any reason why not to get this model? Trying to get the SWAMBO to let me upgrade our 5 year old Sony 32” to this model. Not really concerned with 3D, so this would work perfectly. Will mostly be using it for movies/series using XBMC and PS3/XBOX, so no SABC to worry about.

Well it's between something like this or 50" FHD 3D plasma.

I was at my in law's house (who have this LG LED) again this weekend. I spent quite a while optimising their display settings and got it looking really good. But my Sammy plasma definitely has a better picture. :)

Got the TV today and must say it's a great upgrade from the old Sony.
Any tips regarding the settings that would help with the setup.

Dion wired has the UA46-D6000 Samsung for R10k until end of tomorrow, I would have gone for that.
As I recall it's 120Hz and also has the Smart TV software, WiFi ready, etc.
Samsung generally better quality than LG I think?

Welcome to the forum guzzle, just FYI great site except I have issues when trying to narrow down by option

Thanks D3x :)

What problems are you having when narrowing down by option? I'll address that with our team ASAP. You are not the first person that has said this, though I cannot replicate on my side. Would be very grateful for more feedback.
