I leave for the UK & Europe for about a month next week, and I'm taking some camera equipment (60D, flash, 24-70 2.8, 70-300, flash) and a MacBook. They aren't insured yet. Any advice on what insurance would be the best and approximately how much it would come to for the period?

Thanks :)

Depends on your insurer, how you intend to use the camera and your risk profile. Some insurers cover this to a certain extent within your home owner's insurance policy but you need to confirm this with them. Otherwise you'll have to apply for specific cover for the goods but I'm not sure on the pricing nor the type of policy this would be...

I have my gear listed as individual items with Outsurance along with my car. For things like cameras over a certain value, each item will need to be listed. Outsurance cover equipment when travelling internationally.

No insurer yet, and I don't have home insurance.

Sounds good.

I've never insured any camera equipment on many travels. Do you really need to take the PC with?

You have to decide what the risk is worth.

Then you'll pay a far higher rate than someone with an existing risk profile with the insurers...

Kark.

Yeah, the lappie is to offload the SD cards, pass the time on a few flights and use the web.
