Quick upgrade question

I was just wondering out of curiosity, can one take a tablet on a voice line, or a phone on a data line, when upgrading?

I'm on Vodacom, normally phones get advertised on talk packages, i.e. Smart S, etc. and iPads, tablets, routers, etc. get advertised on data packages, i.e. MyGig 1.

I would assume no, because they don't advertise it vice versa?

That would be, in theory, the best thing to do...

But we are talking Vodacom here...at this stage, a red hot knife up my butt would be less painful than talking to any of the idiots in their call centre!
