I have trouble watching quick time video's (taken using the iphone 4) what is the best way to convert quick time player videos to windows media player?

Windows Media Player plays many many different formats, you have to be a bit more specific...

Get yourself a codec pack - klite is what I use. That way WMP can play just about anything. However it should just work, especially in Windows 7.

VLC does not support playback of commercial Blu-ray discs with copy protection. Those require decryption keys, which only a commercial player can provide. Quick Time neither.
The only one you can use is Macgo Blu-ray player, available on both Mac and Win.
