Hey Guys

I recently rented the Huwaui POwer M inverter and Battery and the system was extremly quite. I am now moving and need to pay a rediculous amount to move the system so cheaper to cancell and just install my own system however I have the following limitations:

1. Can't install Solar Pannels on the Roof
2. No garage and DB in the kitchen so inverter and battery will be in the middle of the house
3. System needs to be future proof as when move in a few years I will move the system and just add solar pannels.

Below looks like a good deal just not sure how loud synsynk systems are ?

The newer sunsynk 5kw units don't have a fan but some of the older ones did. Maybe just double check with the supplier.
If it is fanless make sure its installed with sufficient space to allow for good cooling.

Ahh thanks yeah the area is open. Deye might also seem like a good option don't see any fans on this one

Got a quote for the supply and installtion of a Deye 5KW inverter and battery system for roughtly R 58k. Anyone seen a special lately or is this roughly what it should cost ?
Thanks

Just be careful. I know you want quiet but a fan is there for a reason like with a PC. These inverters are PC's and you will shorten their lifespan if they run hot. I would rather take the noise of a PC fan than having the inverter to survive for long.

Mine is ambient cooled but there is a monster heatsink and good air flow all around.

The 8KVA has fans. Also, the inverter seems to only really make noise when fully off grid and even then not much.

I have the 8kw sunsynk and it pretty noisy. It would drive me mad if it was in the house.

Yeah probably going for a 5kw deye system anyone know the noise level on these ?

Over spec the inverter capacity so that it runs cooler and is never near the threshold where it will be hot and require cooling. Look at the 8KW inverters

If I were speccing a system today, I would look at the Solis S5 or S6. The latter is cheaper and more feature rich than Sunsynk, plus the support is far better, as they give loan units if your inverter goes in for repair. Check out Powerforumstore

That's an incomplete quote of it doesn't mention what battery brand and capacity, how would you start comparing apples to apples if you are not even sure what you have in your hand is an apple or suurlemoen?

Getting more quote and then will compare the lowest 2 in detail.

this was from Solar Advise who seem to have a decent Hello Peter score

They installed my 8Kw Deye Solar system:

Why I would recommend them: They did a quality install.

They outsource the installation but used qualified electricians. A senior electrician who did not work on the original install did post-install check, he was unbiased and immediately pointed out a problem that is commonly made on the 8KW system.

COC all issued and entire system is compliant - a separate engineer who had to sign off the solar installation verified this.

We have had zero issues.

Got about 8 quotes will write a proper thread later. End of the day going with Solar Advise (2nd cheapest) as I can atleast find online reviews and they have been around for longer than 5 years. Many companies only registered 2022/2023 and don;t wan't someone less than a year old giving me 10 year warranties.

I would recommend to get decent amount of quote prices have decreased massively past few months and the 5kw inverter with battery and installation ranges from R 53k - R75k.
