I need advice, I am looking for a new graphics card to upgrade from my Geforce 8600, to play Crysis 2. Any ideas what the best buy is, out there for a R1000?

Depending on where you get it, a 7750 might be an option. I got one of those and it is great.

I am in a different boat. I am looking for a decent cheap gfx card that will work for games like Guild Wars 2 in the R350-R600 range.

Rather not. 2ndhand you can get a gtx460 which is decent. Esquire has the 7750 for r899 exc. Or there is the 6770 - as far as I know the 5770, 6770 and 7770 are basically identical:

I already gave my opinion on the 5750. You're going to be buying 2 generations old tech which hasn't been properly depreciated.

She finished Tomb Raider Legend when she was 4. She plays GW2 because she likes trying out the clothes and running around with her older sister in the virtual world (You just need to be careful with things like chat, guild invites, etc). Unfortunately they don't make multi-player virtual Barbie games.

ASUS NVIDIA GEFORCE GT440 @ R1051

For months this has been Tom's Hardware's recommendation for the low-end segment and the DDR5 version kicks most similarly-priced Radeon cards in the nads. It might not clock as high as a HD7750 with the extra PCI-Express power connector, but it runs very well. It'll handle most games at 720p on high settings and 1080p at medium to high depending on the title you're playing. Considering its near impossible to find a similarly priced HD6770/HD7750 (old version) these days, its worth it.

I am in a different boat. I am looking for a decent cheap gfx card that will work for games like Guild Wars 2 in the R350-R600 range.

Tom's Hardware did their regular performance previews of games like Guild Wars and the best performance preset gives you an idea of what you can look for. The game performs as well as Diablo III on most hardware, so it all depends on the resolution you'd like to play at. I'm guessing at 720p that HD6450 would be running in the 45+ fps bracket.
