Hey Guys
I got lucky and got 13.5 k cash and now I want a laptop! So I am a developer and gamer, I like biggish laptops (15.6" - 17"), what do I get and where?
Thanks!

2 questions, i5 vs i7? and how is the gfx card?
i7 is obviously better, but it won't be that much of a difference unless it's a quad-core mobile CPU. With the extra premium for the i7 and your intention to game with your budget, it won't be that feasible.MSI Gaming GE60 2OE Intel Core i5-4200M 2.50 GHz 8GB Memory NVIDIA Geforce GTX 765M 2GB 750GB 7200RPM HDD Windows 8 Single Language 64 bit 15.6" Notebook <-------------- I like a lot

The GPU is not that good. You're looking at the performance on the same level as a HD7750. Which is far worse than a GTX750 (PC comparison) in the MSI lappie.OR what about this? http://www.wootware.co.za/dell-insp...s-8-single-language-64-bit-15-6-notebook.html Specific opinions on certain brands?

Yeah, if your budget can stretch to the i7, then go for it. Think there is a SSD in there as well, which makes it even better. But, you'll have to add a few thousand (R2.8k) to get there. Just remember that there is an i7 with a 760m and one with a 765m (which is the more expensive one, but with the same GPU as the i5)In laptops i5 is dual core with hyper threading, while i7 is quad core. I'd try go i7 if you can.
I hate that AMD APU in there, but jeez... The GPU in there is good! Hard choice. Need to test both side-by-side instead of just looking at the specs. See if you can find some reviews on both lappies.
Serious note, maybe just save a bit and then look at a SSD laptop, is it really such a big game changer?
Not so easy.
What type of games do you play?
How many external monitors will you be using?
You can buy whatever laptop you want and just drop in an SSD when you feel like it.
