On my C230, 202 series, I swapped out the draglink part myself on a Sunday. Easy to do. Didn't solve the problem though, the knocks remained. It was the front suspension bushes that had actually gone.

I had the same issue on my W202 too. Taking the drag link out is not a problem its just finding someone who stocks it for the 4 cylinder SLK.

TeknoSA has one so hoping its the right one.

Now that's something I did not think of. Can you recommend anyone I could call and find out?
