Daily Maverick has recently learned that an offer of R2-billion has been presented to Jacob Zuma, making it the most significant financial amnesty ever made to a sitting head of state. (The money would be raised from private individuals and institutions, and not from state coffers).

Sources within the ANC, along with sources from the business community have confirmed that the A-bomb has indeed been dropped in at least one major forum, although the president has not yet agreed to begin talks. The economic implications, to say nothing of the legal precedent it would set, are beyond staggering: enough ****-off money to upgrade an Nkandla a year until 2027.

But where would Zuma go? Who else among his faction would be granted amnesty? What would happen to the cash he and his associates already have? And what species of country would be left standing in his wake?

:wtf:

He can **** if that is even mentioned or on the table... He's stolen 2Bn+ already most likely and probably more in fact...

He should be tried and sentenced in court for his crimes and him and his family should pay that money back that he's been dodging for so long.

Besides, if they want him out - then get the Guptas to pay that 2Bn then

Whoever grants this man amnesty/pardon or whatever, is no better than him, let alone give him money.
Stuff that, let his term run and then he can face the music.

A joke surely?

The guy has enough crap on him to impeach a dozen presidents. Why doesn't the ANC do the honourable thing and remove him (and charge him with treason)?

If anything he should be paying billions for selling out the country not receiving them.

Any company that wants to survive.

Zuma being pardoned will only enable him to operate in the shadows. I honestly don’t see the next ANC president to be any better. SA is continuedly gambling on what may be next. This state is captured. Sometimes I believe that these internal ANC quarrels are all theatrics to entice the audience.

No. He should be charged and removed as President. This should have happened weeks ago. It's beyond shocking how the government has failed the people and continues to do so.

This is pure Zuma, go in with R2b and walk away with a pardon, R1b and a state pension.....

What Emjay said. No amnesty, no pardons, no golden handshakes. Law must be restored. Sooner rather than later.

He should be removed and charged. These allegations just show again how corrupt they all are. They are all cut from the same cloth.

I doubt Zuma will be leaving, but if he is open to negotiations, I say pardon him, his family and the Guptas, pay him whatever he wants, even if it R100bn, even if it comes from state coffers and even if it is paid to them in premiums for the rest of their lives. Pay the Guptas whatever they have invested, even if we pay them back for the rest of their lives. We just need to get rid of Zuma, including his ex-wife, and the Guptas and move on to fix the economy and this country.

Fvk him and his family and cadres, they must all be held accountable.

Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about this.

I would like nothing more than to see him held to account. However, my feeling is that should this ever become a possibility he will just piss off out of the country with complete impunity in any event....
