R20k PC - box only, recommend specs?

Maybe it's only the tx range because I've never heard it on my HX.

Anyway, I don't think those Antecs are dual rail like the Corsair HX which is why I prefer the Corsair PSU's

Why not a single rail?

Why not a single rail?
I think Keeper made a typo, because the HX series has a single rail design, and so does the Antec HCG series - unless he refers to the old HX1000, which had a dual rail design ;)

Yes the HX is single rail but the one I have (HX1000) is a weird dual rail setup - I think it's basically 2 PSUs in one or something like that :D

I don't think the Antecs are dual rail, nevermind single rail

Hi There,
For me the most important thing is the question that Pada asked. What will the prime use for the box be?
let's get that answered and then see where and how much should be sent rather than trying to spend the R20K.
The R20K is a budget not a target.
If it is going to be used for commercial purposes I would like to see some backup included either external or cloud service based.
It should not only be about the hardware.
Regards

Tim

What's wrong with the CPU?

So what "better" CPU would you get then mr. smarty pants?

Prolly the fact that it's not a K-series CPU, i.e. it can't be overclocked. So it pretty much nullifies the "overclocker's wet dream" statement. You're paying for something you'll never use.

I'd also rather go for a newer Haswell CPU / mobo for future-proofing.

Im pretty sure you can get that CPU to cook you breakfast in the morning if you asked nicely, overclocking should be a piece of cake.

But those guys are right, its pretty pointless. Hardly any better than a haswell i7. I would get the entry level 6 core version at the very least.

However, I would hold out a few months before upgrading in preparation for ivybridge E and the new AMD HD9XXX cards coming out before the end of the year.
