R48 million for MTN boss

Cell C did hurt them but not enough.
 
I am totally shocked by these figures honestly.

They seem to be increasing them drastically every year.

Wish I a top dog at MTN really.

Hope ACK does not crossover during the OPEN time.

It appears from these figures that they need the MTR's to sustain their personal Salaries - Share gains and Bonus's.

Come on you poor South African's help these guys out even if you do not have food to eat go on make that call.

Its easy to post super huge profits and be successful in a market when you do not have real competition.
 
MTN Group, not MTN SA takes the 48 mill
If MTN SA takes a big pay (actually if he takes anything above basic remuneration) it will be a disservice to the shareholders

So if you are an MTN shareholder you should be livid:
MTN South Africa lead Zunaid Bulbulia, who took up the position in June 2013, was paid a total R7.6 million off a base salary of R2.05 million.

If you are a big MTN shareholder you should probably be getting ready to litigate ...

Zunaid didn't get a Bonus. The extra money is from shares that went up.

Still a lot though.

You must remember that there is a distinction here:

Sifiso is the CEO of MTN Group (which includes MTN's operations in Africa and the Middle East - which is doing VERY WELL compared to South Africa)

Zunaid is CEO of MTN SA (which is not doing so good which is why he did not receive a bonus but still got a decent salary and share benefits)

well quite but he did still get 5 mil of pay that was tied to performance which is problematic for shareholders after today's ruling and the damage he has personally caused the company and group.

Hopefully on studying the ruling people will realize just how ineffective MTNs operations in SA are and that they have contributed to the horrible regulatory climate.

Meanwhile MTN staff continue to get retrenched, year after year
