r8000 to spend

I would go and buy parts at Rectron and build up my own pc again!

i have that option but pc zone is cheaper just used their latest price list for rectron and rebuilt the i7 system that pc zone has and it works out that rectron is 300 more expensive including vat.

So anyone eelse... the quesyion is 8000 which system on the zones website would u buy?

by the way the warranties and guarantees are mostly with rectron anyway so once u got the pc u can just deal with rectron

pc zone buy in hectic bulk so their price list is alittle bit to the average joe that has an account with rectron

When it comes to monitor always by the biggest and best you can.
Those prices look good.
I like the 24"one a lot, haven't seen the 27" one in person yet.

Friends don't let friends buy brands like biostar, ecs etc ;)

Wrt PC Zone, I would not buy any of those systems. I would be looking at Sandy Bridge stuff right now.

@randomwalsh

Do you have any existing components you are going to re-use?
Do you need a GPU?

Rather build yourself a Sandy Bridge system from scratch. There are a couple of build threads here already with budgets similar to yours although they include a GPU (which you don't seem to need?) but then again you need a monitor.

What components do and don't you need and what size/spec more or less, ie HDD size etc?

Do you intend OCing the PC?

What is wrong with biostar? Very good brand and the price is always really good. Have you have ever used one? Features aplenty and price that is perfect.

Why is biostar rubbish if i may ask?

Just because something is cheap and feature rich does not mean it is rubbish or we would all be using mac's

Past experience, same goes for ECS & Intel. These days I stick to Gigabyte & Asus, buy the entry level boards as they are cheaper but I know they are reliable, so it's a bit of a compromise in all honesty (features vs reliability).

You make it sound like asus and gigabyte don't fail.

Biostar make good solid performing motherboards with seriously good features for the price.

Never said that, one of my own gigabyte boards failed a year or two ago but it was the first one ever.

If biostar floats your boat then good. I however will not buy them or recommend them.

I am assuming you have had bad experiences with biostar? What happened?

They just kicked the proverbial bucket, dead as a Dodo :D

Things might have improve as of late, I would not know though so I stick to what has served me well.

DON'T buy from Pczone, rather buy from an online store or Computerworld in Hillcrest, Pczone have utter crap customer support, and only 1 year warranties on things, you basically asking for trouble if you buy from them.

Hell I'd rather buy from Incredible Corruption than PcZone in a heart beat...

Then only thing that is ok to buy from them is their monitors cause of the suppler warranties, Other than that stay clear away, unless you don't care about customer support that is.
