Racist banter

Biggest and most frustrating problem is that many deem anything you say about the ANC, the way the country is run, crime and whenever "Current News" of SA is negative ..... as "RACIST" banter. Then they respond with old Apartheid banter and references. So what is good for the Goose must equally be as good for the Gander. It cannot be one sided. Then unfortunately there are those that deem racism is only possible with White on Black and not Black on White and neither Black on Black. So whatever some members say will always be deemed RACIST!

I agree with you. I believe the problem is ANC-encouraged though. I have heard and read of countless times where an ANC member cannot be racist, it's just not possible. I've come to this conclusion based on the fact that even if a black person disagrees with an ANC-member, they're somehow ostracised from their own racial group and called, "coconuts." I think that as far as the ANC and its members are concerned, race is just another means of manipulating their members by encouraging a "them" vs "us" mentality.

The problem isn't limited to racial groups though, race is just what gets used as the tool to manipulate with. Religion does it, peer pressure uses it and why not? It works by using guilt and anxiety whether it is justifiable/rational or not.

No, intelligent people can differentiate between actual racist comments and comments that are deemed racially motivated by the ruling party.
