And what, have the pupils burn down the school again?
The current mess with education or lack of proper black schools is the fault of the ANCYL directly. In the previous regime they just brunt down one school after another, violently attacked teachers even killing some and forced schools to be closed for extended periods because of strikes and whatnot. The problem is that it did not just stay in the past, at present they are doing exactly the same.
Granted the ANC does not give a hoot about their own people, but will it REALLY make a difference if they get shiny new schools to destroy, teachers who do not pitch for work, students who do no learn for exams, parents who do not discipline?
How can it be that some people can start a private school out of nothing (there are hundreds around us started by churches, parents, etc.) and have it succeed but others have to be spoon fed and still fail?
Is there not a deeper seated problem here that needs to be addressed?
It's got nothing to do with money, you can start an education system in the plakkerskamp that will suit your needs easily, but like a friend of mine used to say: "Waar daar 'n wil is daar 'n weg, die probleem is die meeste mense se wil is weg!"
