I want to buy a 6870 card and i want to know if its a good card and how does it play on Bf3 with ultra settings. Any one knows. Any one has this card and are you happy about the card or not
 
What resolution will you be playing at?

Even at 1920*1080 the 6870 does very, very well in BF3.
 
Ultra settings no, High yes.

What that does not show is whether it was online or offline for starters and it does not show the hit when shyte flies.

So sure 40 sounds great but a on 64 player server with 59 okes what will it be? Could it drop into the 20's?

Honestly the difference between medium and ultra is so small you won't even notice it. If you run medium setting with AA on low/medium it looks great, running it on ultra with everything else on high doesn't look that much better. EA have a done good ensuring the high end guys don't see much more than lower end guys.
 
Will all the reply's , this card sound nice. I normaly play on LOW when i play BF3 online. The iburst is a bit slow so cant handle that lekker, with all the lag sometimes. But with normal games i think the 6870 could handle it on max settings
 
Everything maxed out it runs smooooovve on my 6870 and intel 2500k @ 4ghz

That graph clearly shows the GTX580 being the limiting factor. I can guarantee you the overclock makes one moerse difference in gaming

Besides I was just listing my specs ;)

I somehow doubt you have everything maxed, there is no possible way you run AA on the highest setting with hbao plus ultra settings and get good frames.

Then again maxed to me and maxed to you may be totally different :p. To me max is everything as high as it can go.

Everything on max @ 1680x1050.
6870HD
8GB Corsair RAM
2500K @ 4ghz

Dont believe me, i really dont care...

can any one post a benchmark of let say 3Dmark11 on the form??
 
Ya I don't know about people claiming everything on max with everything smooth with a small card. I have better hardware and sure it plays great most of the time bit to keep things silky smooth 100% of the time I keep it on medium.
 
Runs all games well on High not ultra- have it on my 2500K system HD6870 OC Edition
