RADEONX300/X550 Series-Problems

OK thanks very much for your time and help...I have scoured the ATI forums but no joy, I wish my Nvidia that worked 100%...I think I must look for another card that will work...

Sorry, but I dont buy that ... ATI do not make dual monitor capable cards/drivers that only support 2 monitors in clone mode (i.e. both displays show the same copy of your desktop). If it supports 2 monitors is will support both clone and extended (i.e. 1 large desktop that extends across both monitors) mode, which by the way is a standard function of WinXP.

Disabled, I think there maybe something wonky in your WinXP/ATI driver setup. My advice would be to totally uninstall all ATI software from Win Control panel, reboot, then install ATI drivers from scratch.

Alternatively if your getting to gatvol with this process, then go ahead and spend a few hundered Rs to get an nVidia card. Personally I've always found multi-monitor setup in Catalyst eaiser than nVidia's nView utility (used to setup multi-monitors).
 
Ok try this download Hydravision from here https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&folderID=27

and install it seperately maybe for some reason the hydravision in the drivers are bad.

The reason I asked earlier if it had that IDE cable like connection is because there wa a limitation in some 7000 and almost all 9250se card that would only let you use clone mode...of course now that I try search for the problem I can find it. I seem to remember that, that IDE type cable would only split one connection and not allow for two unique connections.

Umm yeah another thing you might wanna try are the DNA drivers: http://www.dna-drivers.com/ and if that doesnt work then im going with it being a limitation of the card, even though i cant seem to find the problem on any site

The story goes like this:

I originally had the AGP Nvidia card, I upgraded my system and the MoBo does not accept AGP cards only PCI express, anyway I got this card (ATI) in place of the Nvidia...I tried many a solution but none were acceptable I contacted my friend who did the upgrade and he now has replaced the ATI Radeon X300 with a NVIDIA NX6600,( Thought it was my Birthday) Well I'm amazed problems all sorted out and now I have what I need all is working 100%...I'm not a Gamer I do PC Music and Program reviews as well as Beta Testing and the card suits me just fine!!!
