So it's still quite costly if you don't have access to free WiFi.It's around 60MB an hour for a good quality stream.

I just listen to Radio 702.
Talk Radio 702 used to be cutting edge impartial investigative journalism... but they sold out long ago and today their agenda is very evident.

Whatever Primedia is supporting, so is 567/702 and they stick to the script.Well look who is at the helm now.![]()

You don't need a PC to enjoy radio streaming. Just use the TuneIn Radio app and listen to whatever station you want. I listen to radio from all around the world.
Aha yes!!! I agree with you but I don't have a smartphone. I have a simple non-state-of-the-art Nokia for talking and SMSs. It works for me.
The PC is hooked up to a hi-fi system with a reasonably good set of speakers giving me sound throughout my house. Heaven ............ !!!
Radio is far from dead. Just cos SA Radio sucks doesn't mean the medium is dead.
I don't think Radio will ever go away, at least not for many, many decades still.
And even then, it will always be a fall back medium.
I remember a similar article about a year ago from Gareth Cliff and nothing has changed in the past 12 months.
I must say though, I really enjoyed listening to Satellite Radio in the USA.
I could get used to that here.
One example is that Primedia is anti-gun, so all their gun-related interviews make GFSA centre stage with no gun forums represented. The same goes for segments produced by their news partner, EWN. Bias creeping in.Yes and ?
I use to listen to Phil Wright on 5fm years ago. He use to talk about the bands... Their history and whole life lol which made it very informative. So you get to know a lot more of the bands. And most of the time he use to play the music uninterrupted .

That's cool. The only downside is that I've found some radio stations with TuneIn Radio don't work in the desktop app. BBC stations for example. Have you had that problem?
They also purged some Jewish presenters Lisa Chait and Leigh Bennie. They are indeed, most of their presenters as well, I know this for fact
Their anti Israel bias as well. Having someone on there like Adam Habib?I just turn off when he comes on

Leigh was a pleasure to listen to.
