For those of you working with wireless networks, be it WUG, Wisp or even two way radios, Radiomobile is an amazing free program to plot links with topographical data. It has a steep learning curve, but there are some good guides available to help you get started.

If you want to plot coverage maps and such, you will need compatible antenna profiles. Ubiquiti provides these files on their website.

If you need something more basic for a simple link plan, simply draw a line on Google Earth, save it, and then in the left hand pane, right click on the line and select "Show elevation profile"

Hope it helps

I agree. I have used it for radar simulations, its an excellent free tool. Just a mission to figure out how to use.

Hi There,
I suppose that we all want at time in this age to have the instant solution. Search engines have made research incredibly quick to do. We seem to forget that the hard learning is something that stays with us for longer. Can you remember how long it took to learn multiplication tables.
So when something is said to be hard I see it as something that when mastered will live with me for a long time.
Maybe try that and the learning curve will not seem as onerous.
Thanks Wipronet for the tip on the topographical profile.

Regards Tim
