Hi,

Just like to know from some of the guys that has been using Radius Manager from DMA Soft and Mikrotik, how effective is the speed limit, ex. a 1024/512 connection, how effective is the PPPoE session in controlling and limiting the speed in real time? Is this solid or is it a best attempt?

Thanks

Pretty solid, 98% i'd say

Thank you for your reply. Are you guys using Radius Manager?

Your Website looks fantastic and your pricing great! If I may ask, did you guys revamp the Radius Manager interface? It seems dull and old - not trendy.

Hi There,
As Radius manager is a common recommendation I would suspect that they deliver the goods.

Let us know how good when you are up and running.

Regards

Tim

Hey Rpdii,

Yes we skinned it with our own colours etc

Also if you don't mind me asking, are you, and if so, which Mikrotik RB's do you guys use as your main core router?

We use the CCR 1036 - no problems so far. Running full BGP sessions and pushing >200Mbs easily

CCR1036 is a machine! But overkill if you dont have the funds look at RB2011 or even 950 .. 128mb ram with 680mhz CPU works just fine.

Get a RB1100 (single core) or RB1100ahx (dual core) - We still use them in some places, rock solid. I find the 2011's are a bit flaky sometimes, especially with their switch bank.

Agreed, but with latest firmware on ROS 6.5 actually run pretty nice. But yes 1100 or AHX is heavy firepower very solid

Hi,

I am using Radius Manager from DMA Soft and Mikrotik for a wiFi hots pot in my cafe center. But I would like to give a offer like ,first time whenever a customer starts browsing after selecting WIFI AP. They will be redirect to the captive portal (Which is possible), completes the registration, and starts browsing for 15mins, after crossing the free limit , he will be asked for the refill.I know this is possible here.

What i want here , this user couldn't use any more free,or cant register anymore ,system will restrict him by tracking the MAC(user device identification number). Can anyone help me ?How could I restrict the device to use the free browsing in a life time?

Thx
SA
