well firstly raiding 2 320 gig hdd is not a good thing man
raid should only be used for OS and not for storage unless you dont mind loosing your data
raid offers alot more performance
rather go with 2 x 80 gig or 2 x 160 gig and dont store important info on it
what mobo do you have?
dude raid is an amazing system boost
installing stuff and general day to day use is so much faster
the reason you use raid only for your OS is because of failure, but a raid config failing is remote but it does happen
loosing your OS is not bad but loosing 600 gig of media and must suck
i have run raid for a few years and the only time i have a problem is when i replace my mobo but a simple image load mobo reimage and its sorted
i have also never had a raid config fail on me, although this does not mean it never happens
yea totally man 640 is just crazy and a waste of space
yes you use your raid drive for your operating system and program installs games install etc but save nothing of importance on that raid drive
Wikipedia said:When one sector on one of the disks fails, however, the corresponding sector on every other disk is rendered useless because part of the data is now corrupted. RAID 0 does not implement error checking so any error is unrecoverable. More disks in the array means higher bandwidth, but greater risk of data loss.
Is'nt RAID 0 a little unstable cause of stripping accross multiple drives?
I my self would have OS on one drive and everything els on another
raid and vista is amazing
nothing like having 2 raptors in raid
i thought u didnt use raid haha
