Hey

I am a bit confused about how raid id's work and the whole thing about guild raid id theft.

Lets say I pug a raid with another guild and we kill 5 / 6 for instance. Then the next day I do the same raid with other people. Now the new people will get my locks if they are not locked as well. (i.e. 5/6). If we then drop the last boss what happens to the original group's raid locks I raided with?

Thanks

yes if new person starts , the amount of bosses must be the same for you to join.

so new person must have 5/6 lockout then you can join the raid

i am confused as well :P

i think you get hes, i am not sure :(

so if you fail to down boss and they kill him with other people you ,cant down him.

lol

My problem is for instance I pug a BWD today, don't have enough time to finish it then I do not want to screw up the original guy's locks by finishing it with a new group to tomorrow

I have no idea but this is what I assume it does.

You pugged it today and did 5/6 your raid id is: XYZ same with the other 9 or 24 players.

If you pugged tomorrow for the last boss you will be assigned the new RaidID of the new group. So if you down the last boss with the new raid you will be on their RadiID:
ZYX. Meaning the very first group who is still on XYZ can still down the boss as they never killed him yet, you will have a new ID. apart from the first one you got for the first 5 bosses.

Correct the only exception is if there are any HC downs on a raid ID.

If you get saved or are saved to a RaidID which has any bosses downed on HC you can not get a new raid ID and you will share that raid ID.

So, bottom line is then it's safe to pug the same raid multiple times of it is not on heroic and you won't screw anybody's locks up?

Short answer Yes PUG away and it won't affect anyone,

the HC thing is a bit more complicated but you probably don't need to worry about it.
Using BWD as an example
Remember HC can be done per boss, so you may join a pug that is 1/6 (and you might not know that the first boss was done HC)
if you join that raid and down Onmitron on normal, you will now be saved to that raid ID for the rest of the week sharing it with anyone and everyone who downed any bosses in that raid.
So if you left after Omni (you would have to down at least 1 boss to actually get saved) and they downed another 3 you would be 5/6.
This is only true if any boss was downed on HC before or while you where in the raid group.
