RAID issue - please assist

75% on the primary disk isn't particularly healthy either,Disk2 also not reporting much so probably toasty
Backup and replace asap
and lastly, I assumed that the reason why it showed as critical was due to the primary drive reporting 75% I am now seeing this is a separate issue!

Yikes......

will do ASAP..
First need to figure out what raid management software to use to adopt the new drives
None, you need to do it in the RAID BIOS,Microservers have had basic raid for ages given their "budget" status

Also need advice on the best brand/model of 2TB replacement drives to get. Something which combines affordability with reliability.
Unless someone knows of a good retailer, the replacement drives will be bought via Takealot.

This is a home for mentally challenged people, so their cashflow isn't the greatest.

Thanks
Look,to be fair, your Reds are "2nd" best for the "quality" of WD. I think you might just be suffering from loadshedding related death

Personally i'd go for Seagate 's Red "Ironwolf" 2TBx2 and an external 2TB for backups perhaps
Backblaze's harddrive failure stats:

Really don't think loadshedding has anything to do with the drives failing, as the server is located on the same grid of a major Psychiatric Hospital in Cape Town, and may even get the electricity supply from them directly and is therefore exempt from loadshedding. There was until recently a UPS connected too, so even if the power was cut, the server would stay powered. During Loadshedding times, and while the cell phone towers in the area go down, the property stays on.

I've had a look in the BIOS, and don't any option to adopt new drives, perhaps as I haven't got any yet!

If anyone knows how to adopt new drivers in the BIOS of these HP Microservers, please let me know.

I want to get the ball rolling in the next week or so.

Thank you all kindly
