Hey guys :D

So who of you raid and who does PvP (primarily).

I'm a raider, but I do PvP when bored. I have full raiding gear set and a full S2 PvP set :D

Just started SSC and TK a week ago :)

Tend to do both, primarily raiding Sunwell and BT with pally. TK/Hyjal with war

Decided to go MS with the war for 25mans and PVP - I want a PVP drake ;)

Im all about PvP. Although i hear that this "raiding" thing is pretty rad. Maybe ill give it a try in wrath, as i dont see much point in starting now

PvP mainly. I will how ever farm full PvP gear for the dailies. PvP Gear owns for quests and farming. Once done i'll get my rogue some daggers and change to sub spec for PvP only. I love my new Shaman to much and will raid with him instead :)

I don't play arena much since it kinda defeats the point of a Massively Multiplayer Online game. I raid where i can and do battlegrounds. Again, the point is, Massively Multiplayer. To me anyway.

I do both... and I like both.
PVE is just a lot more time consuming. Normal PVP BG's are fun and relaxing, where arena makes you sweat from concentration + focusing.

I do find doing a lot of PVP, makes a better player out of you for PVE.
When I joined the Cyclone battlegroup, I was warned by Werries just how bad ass they were. OFC, I thought, just how bad can it be ? ... well yea, I had an eye opener. I now react faster and quicker than ever before, you learn to adapt and up your playing style.

Some of our best PVE raiders are ex High Warlords.
Both sides of the game are excellent in my opinion. No matter how many times I do WSG, AV, AB , EoTS... I just dont get bored of it... my HK's are living proof of it hehe. :)

Arena is a retarded concept imo...AV defines MMO PVP, huge armies of players battling it out. For arguments sake, WAR will dominate PVP, and WOW will continue to dominate the PVE sides of the MMO world (/derail-off)

Pretty much my opinion of it all. Funniest part is, in BG's, the game is pretty 'balanced'. My Enhance shammy for eg, is pretty damn good at racking up the hk's, and rogue stunlocking idiocy and pillar humping is largely mitigated and a game about War actually becomes a game about War again, where tactics and strategy and concepts such as utilising chokepoints and using superior numbers matter rather than LoS idiocy and who has the most cc.

It's pretty stupid, giving arena players the best gear for simply cheese exploitation.
I really don't understand why Blizzard is so set on turning PVP in their Massively Multiplayer Game into, effectively, Guild Wars. /yawn. Bring on WAR.

Raiding will always be the reason I play WoW.
I only PvP if I'm after a specific item.

I agree! Arena does not belong here. It was fun in the start, but now it's spoiling the game.

I mainly only do PVP at the moment, battleground only.

I have raided all the way to sunwell, and am seriously bored of it now, hate the boss farming.

I can't wait for expansion but I think wow is loosing its shine. This game has got so much potential with PVP but its not taking opportunity of that. I'm hoping the PVP in the coming expansion changes that.

I miss the feeling of war in this game. What I see now a days is too many gear farmers in PVP.

Anyways I say bring the war back to warcraft.

Agreed. Even though I'm a raider I have full S2 even if I can't PvP for my life :p I don't use my gear for PvP though...use it to do my dailies :p Damn alliance gank like mad on Dentarg lol

BG when im bored ... (happens a lot apparently with 18k kills registered on my paladin :P )
More seriously....
PVE new content is what i play mmos for.

A wise dragon once said ..." PVP is the only place in wow where you get rewarded even if you suck"
Thats why i wil always do PVE 1st as there is accomplishment in turning a logistical nightmare (organising 25 people) into an organised slayer squad.

Enough said.

I don't really play the game for the rewards. I usually use my Grand Marshal's Gear for kicks, usually brings a smile to fellow players and really pisses off the opposition cause level 60 gear is kicking their level 70 gear. On my mage I have around 138 000 lifetime kills, so yea I PVP a lot.

But I think getting PVE gear is just has easy has getting PVP gear. Getting decent gear in this game is pretty easy.

I actually think the reward system in this games suck a bit.

When BC was still pretty fresh and ppl noob, downing moroes was like omfg , skillz we has them :p
BT/MH has been nurf batted more than a alchies wife and badge loot is comparable to some t6 loot. So now t6 content is doable with a half decent raid.
Although ,with t6 content all the good stuff drops in the latter of the instance and those boss’s require decent quality gear/players

i like both but mainly only raid with 70s pve with alts.. pvp occasionally but i feel like i dnt do well as my gear is *** but it is enjoyable :D

Blizzard have steadily nerfed the hell out of PVE over the past half year or so. Removal of all attunements, badge gear that's almost T6, bosses nerfed over and over again. It's not that PVE overall/generally is easy, it's that it's relatively easy now. As mentioned, back in the day clearing KZ was a big deal, and Gruul and Mag were srs bzns. It was hard. Groundslam/Shatter was crazy, orb clicking was a mission to get sorted.
PVE would still be hard if you didnt have guys in T6 dragging guys in greens through KZ in an hour and half. If people still had to actually down Vashj and Kael to step into MH/BT.

This whole recent Blizzard attitude of 'even kids with downs should see some raiding' attitude is epic megafale.

There was a time I supported the dumbing down of it all, but even considering I've seen some MH/BT, I'd actually rather still be stuck farming ssc and TK than see soo many people running around in crazy gear solely because they have friends in guilds farming BT and not because they have any actual real skill in this game. there was a time i saw people in Tier2 and 3 and thought, 'holy shiz, thems must be good'. Today you see someone in T5, even T6 and you're like, 'meh, /yawn'.

Ah well. Wrath will reintroduce the 'old times' for a time, but I'm somewhat disillusioned. If Wrath content gets nerfbatted the same way, why bother so hard in the beginning? As time goes by I'm increasingly becoming more 'casual', since the reward to work ratio for raiding is clearly becoming lesser and lesser and I suspect the trend will simply continue into Wrath. Right now i rather enjoy just doing heroics for badges and pewpewing alliance in the bg's and still feeling like I'm 'progressing'. If you can't beat em, join em?

Blizz's approach seems to be, give people a certain amount of time to beat the content at level X, then drop it to X-1 (usually at the same time as you introduce a new level). There are still going to be attunements in Wrath, so I'm betting they're going to do this again. Then again, they also said that Wrath attunements won't be quite as mad as BT, so perhaps they're going for easier attunement in favour of nerfs.

I understand Blizz's philosophy around 'aging' content to make it more accessible to less skilled players.
Look at Naxx. Before Sunwell arrived many still considered Naxx the best content in WoW and yet the number of people who actually got to see it was tiny.

At least by steadily making encounters easier more people get to see the likes of Vashj and Kael, even if it's only to wipe on them.

I'll still be Raiding in Wrath and pushing hard from the start, except this time, unlike BC I won't be sitting with a new level 1 toon to play catchup with. This time I'll have several well geared 70's who've prepared in advance.
