After a few weeks of good speed it just grinds to a halt today. Back to crappy speeds. I'm now using my telkom Sim for the afternoon.

This afternoon Rain stopped working on the Durban Berea. There isn't even a network health notice on their website.

I am in Durban and have been experiencing poor speeds and regular droputs during the day with Rain for most of the week.

I actually went and got a Telkom SIM to use as I am working from home. Telkom has the 5GB LTE prepaid for R99 which I am using now to work.

Can you log in to your router? Try change the active frequency:

RAIN uses Band 3 (1800 MHz) and Band 38 (2600 MHz). You should be able to select the active band you are using from auto to manual - try both and see if one is better than the others.

You can also always try get a MIMO antenna like this one (https://otto-wireless-solutions.mys...imo-ottenna-6-db-with-5-meter-cables-lte-mo-6)

Thanks for this info.

I will test and see how the speed improves as my router was set to Auto.

Does anyone no if the B526 - 65a supports 2600mhz

If you are referring to the B525s-65a, it should. The 65a version supports bands 38, 40 and 41 so should be suitable for both Telkom (2300MHz TDD Band 40) and Rain (2600Mhz TDD Band 38) carriers. It is also one of the approved routers for the Afrihost/MTN Pure LTE service which could be very useful. A lot of spectrum in Bands 38 and 40 has also been made available temporarily during the pandemic which will hopefully come online very soon. Currently Vodacom and MTN each have 38Mhz of permamanent spectrum available together with 160MHz and 140Mhz of temporary spectrum, respectively.
