The only difference I notice with the new firmware is the lock frequency section under system changed from Lock4g/5g to Lock NSA/SA

New firmware:

Old firmware:
It use to give option for 4g and 5g. now its Lock NSA and Lock SA (5g). Although at stats SA uses NSA

Is it possible to download the firmware update and apply is manually? I can't find a firmware file anywhere?

Good luck with that, once had a CPE that had old firmware and did not want to upgrade itself, begged for the very info and files you looking for - till today - no reply.
My CPE was eventually swopped out for a newer one.
It solved the firmware version number, but did noting for solving my speed problems ....

What firmware version do you currently have ?
This is a very old thread so some info in it is obsolete.rain cpe version.JPG

Where you one of those that paid upfront for a router cause my dad was and they replaced it with the new outdoor units and got the money back as a credit on his account.

I also had the old outdoor huge grey thing never paid in as took the black Friday deal they swamped it out.

They work well as 4g routers :)

There is actually an API on this thing, maybe it's possible to download it

So from my testing, it seems that the newer firmware actually makes the device worse, latency spikes to the router itself over lan, you can't lock it to the correct frequencies for the bands that Rain uses. @rain_mobile maybe you can confirm. I know that on firmware V200R001C00SPC232 allows to lock on band B3 , frequency 1880. Which you cannot lock onto with the latest firmware, because it limits you to 1879. So unless the you can still use that frequency. Otherwise the latest update is actually bad. So without being able to download firmware, you can't downgrade it if you have issues with the latest firmware. Which isn't really fair.
